At Heugh Battery Museum Saturday 4th marking #somme110, I am portraying a Royal Army Medical Corps officer during the First World War. The Heugh Battery Museum and Poppy Tea Rooms belong to the Heugh Gun Battery Trust Ltd, a charity set up to restore and maintain the site of the only First World War battlefield in the UK and a vital part of Hartlepool’s heritage. The Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) was a specialist corps in the British Army which provided medical services to all Army personnel and their families, in war and in peace.
