Its great to see this sort of activity taking place. I have experienced both sides of local government reorganisation. The first was the abolition of the former County of Avon, which saw property assets of the County Council allocated to the four inheriting Unitary Councils. The second was as Acting Head of Property at the new Cornwall Council, as it assimilated the assets of the former Cornish District Councils. Both presented their own unique challenges. No two local government reorganisations are identical. But the process is the same, and requires both discipline and data. Where either these is missing, costly mistakes can happen.
