No, the comparison is not the good question. The question is, just and only, why no National Anthem? NOT the proviso "but there was a long Welcome to Country". https://lnkd.in/g_3JHwwP Of course there was a Welcome to Country and of course there should be. That does not cancel out the National Anthem and nor should there be the implied choice of one or the other. Or that one has no right to be there if the other is not.... BOTH are part of our spiritual fabric of People of this Land. A better question is where is Pemulwuy recorded at the War Memorial? He was a great warrior who fought for his people and his land that is now our people and our land. Brave, fighting against impossible odds, excellent behaviour, countless engagements over a decade, no atrocities and always legitimate military targets. Where is the Earth and Crow Soldier's epitaph at the Australian War Museum? "Fought in countless engagements with those private merchants who would take his lands and harm his Children, wounded many times. A great and inspiring leader. Cheerful in all weathers. Never shirked a task. Splendid behaviour. His body desecrated by his enemy". Where is his story? Where is his saga? Now our story now our saga = if you are an Australian = just like the Haka of Te Rauparaha is core to the National fabric of New Zealand (the other part of ANZAC). The Council of Botany should begin it to light his "Voice" for his Children ("us guys"... because we are of his land now) to honour.
