Salary: $1,000 – $1,600/month Freelancer: “I would do it for $400/month” I saw this on X and I couldn’t scroll past it A company posted a Virtual Assistant role Salary: $1,000 – $1,600/month.. clearly written Then someone replied: “I would do it for $400/month.” Hmmm I’m not sitting next to that person but honestly I can almost hear the thinking behind it: “Maybe if I go lower, I’ll get picked” “Maybe I’m not good enough yet” I know Everyone wants a chance… Everyone is trying to get their foot in the door But at what cost? Because the moment you start introducing yourself from a place of “I’m cheaper” You’re also saying, “I’m less valuable.” And people will believe you for real And guess what ? Someone else will apply for that same role, confidently and get it without doing too much Not because they’re 10x better But because they didn’t shrink themselves. This isn’t about judging anyone… It’s just a reminder: You don’t have to be the cheapest to be chosen. Sometimes… you just need to believe in yourself PS: do you think that freelancer did too much? or it’s just me🤔
