I am proud to have led this 2026 food security assessment in Ukraine and to contribute evidence that informs humanitarian decision-making during a critical period. https://lnkd.in/dituCtDS While atleast 1 in 4 household living in frontline areas continue to be food insecure, our analysis found that food assistance improved household food security outcomes by nearly 20 percentage points, demonstrating the significant impact of sustained humanitarian food support. The evidence points to three priorities: • Sustain monthly food assistance for the 2 million highest-priority cases, particularly in frontline areas where market systems have largely collapsed and in-kind food assistance remains essential. • Regularly adjust cash transfer values to keep pace with food inflation and preserve purchasing power. • Use robust impact evidence to advocate for continued investment, especially where assistance has reduced visible needs but underlying vulnerability persists. Evidence-based programming matters. Continued support is essential to protect the progress achieved and prevent a reversal of gains for vulnerable households across Ukraine.
