Social Work isn't what most people think it is. When I tell people I'm a Social Worker, the reactions are usually interesting. Some think it's all about giving advice. Some think it's charity work. Others aren't quite sure what Social Workers actually do. The reality? Social Work is about people, advocating for those who need support, connecting individuals to resources, and reminding people they don't have to face life's challenges alone. One thing nobody told me while I was studying Social Work: success isn't about having all the right answers. More often, it's about asking the right questions. As I grow in this field, I'm learning that the most valuable skills aren't always taught in a classroom: ✨ Patience when progress is slow. ✨ Empathy when someone's story is different from yours. ✨ Resilience when things don't go as planned. ✨ Confidence to speak up for people who may not have a voice. ✨ The willingness to keep learning, even after graduation. Social Work isn't always easy, but it's meaningful. Sometimes, impact isn't measured by big achievements, it's measured by one conversation, one opportunity, or one person who feels seen and heard. And honestly? I'm still learning every day. 🤝 💭 What's one skill you've developed through experience that no classroom could have taught you? #SocialWork #CareerGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #LearningJourney #Impact #PersonalDevelopment #LinkedInChallenge
