Chief Joy Officer & TED Speaker - Bringing you Togethership: the key to creating cohesive, resilient and effective teams

In a recent team coaching workshop, it became clear that the team had been working in silos. Collaboration low. Friction high. Results poor. Here's how Togethership unlocked them: After investing the morning creating connection and trust (through spending time together answering simple but effective questions - see my next post for more on this), the unlocker: Sharing what each person/ each sub-team does. NOT through Death by Powerpoint (you know how it normally goes: each team gets 30 minutes to present templated, mind-numbing, over-populated PowerPoint to a glazey-eyed audience. Times 8 teams. 4 hours of energy-draining boredom and no added value) What WE did was get each team to spontaneously write on flipcharts: 1. What we are proud of in our team 2. What challenge we overcame this past year 3. What our biggest challenge is coming up this year 4. What help we need from the other teams in the room 5. .. and one fun fact about our team :) Then in a 'Marketplace' format, people walk around, hear from a team representative what they have written (3 minutes) and then have a chat about what this means for them. Simple, lively, but VERY effective. And takes MUCH less time, so you can spend more time interacting and building trust as human beings. What have you seen work to break down silos?
