Over the last few weeks, I’ve had lots of lovely blethers with both new connections and familiar faces. One thing that always strikes me is how generously people share their time, knowledge and experience. Every conversation either helps move my business forward or introduces me to new ideas, tools and opportunities that can help girls feel good about themselves through the Happy Thoughts Squad. Kate Williamson – founder of The Steady Place. Kate’s positive energy is infectious, and her passion for supporting young people through her counselling practice shines through in everything she does. Sandra Benn – founder of Chiya & Chai Tea Tasting Experiences. Sandra and I are planning a cosy hygge-style tea experience later this year, and I can’t wait. The wellbeing benefits of tea are huge, and listening to Sandra share her expertise is fascinating. Nikki Kirkland – co-founder of Sew Ho Studios. Whether it’s alterations, bespoke soft furnishings or beautifully embroidered branded clothing, Nikki is incredibly talented and passionate about her craft. Morna Dawson – we met through @The Outsiders (Edinburgh) netwalking events, and since then she’s been a fantastic supporter through likes, shares and comments on my LinkedIn posts. That kind of cheerleading is invaluable when you’re building a business. Elspeth Maxwell – co-founder of Dog and Fox. We first connected online after Karen Bennett shared Elspeth’s brilliant AI literacy guide, then bumped into each other at a The Outsiders event the very next day. It was lovely to turn an online connection into a real-life conversation. These connections matter. Whether it’s a quick chat over coffee, a walk up a hill in the drizzle, or a conversation that starts online, every connection has the potential to spark an idea, open a door, or simply brighten your day. I’m incredibly grateful to be building Happy Thoughts Squad alongside such a supportive community of brilliant women.
