Tonight the Port of Cartagena becomes the city's living room. We've set up a giant screen on the port esplanade so anyone who wants to can watch the World Cup final together — Spain vs. Argentina, kickoff at 9 pm. No tickets, no fences. Just the waterfront, a screen, and whoever shows up. Sometimes I ask myself what "port-city integration" actually means. It isn't a slogan or a line in a strategic plan. It's this: opening a space that for decades felt closed off, and handing it back to the people who live around it. A port only makes sense if the city feels it as its own. Tonight we happen to have a final, and we're all in for Spain. But the idea outlasts the result. Tomorrow the esplanade will still be here — and the fact that this port belongs to Cartagena will still be true, whatever the scoreboard says. See you there. ¡Vamos, España! Hemos instalado una pantalla gigante en la explanada para ver juntos la final del Mundial: España-Argentina, a las 21:00. Sin entradas y sin vallas. El frente portuario, una pantalla y quien quiera acercarse. A veces me pregunto qué significa de verdad eso de la "integración puerto-ciudad". No es un eslogan ni una línea del plan estratégico. Es esto: abrir un espacio que durante décadas se percibió como cerrado y devolvérselo a quienes viven a su alrededor. Un puerto solo tiene sentido si la ciudad lo siente suyo. Esta noche, además, tenemos una final y vamos con España. Pero la idea va más allá del resultado.
