Supreme Court justices were skeptical of the Trump administration’s attempt to limit birthright citizenship. The U.S. Constitution reads plainly enough that all persons born in the United States "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof" are U.S. citizens, with the narrow exception of diplomats. This has been the predominant interpretation for centuries. Several judges - including Roberts, Gorsuch and Barrett- questioned whether the administration's newfangled interpretation is consistent with the 14th Amendment and long-standing legal precedent. We shall see, but doesn't look like they will prevail. https://lnkd.in/g7NbikMQ
