Social Media Strategist | Turning Content Into Visibility, Engagement & Growth for SMBs & NGOs

When was the last time you invested in marketing for YOUR business? As a social media manager, I'm most guilty of "the cobbler goes without shoes." I've been saying it for ages, but today that stops. I just had an incredible headshot session with the talented Rebecca Kowalsky. This was my time to step back into the client seat and put real effort into MY marketing. Here's what I learned (or re-learned) about investing in our own businesses: šŸŽÆ First impressions happen in milliseconds, your headshot is often the very first touchpoint potential clients have with you and your brand. Yet how many of us are using outdated photos across our platforms? šŸ“ø Preparation pays off: Just as you'd prepare for any important business meeting, I came prepared to get the most out of our session, switching clothes and jewelry to give me more options for when and how to use these pictures later. ā° We're constantly evolving, personally and professionally. Are you offering the same services you were 3 years ago? Have you grown personally in the past few years or even months? Your photos should reflect who you are today. šŸ’° It's marketing budget, not vanity spending: One session gives you fresh content for LinkedIn, your website, speaker bios, media features, business cards, everywhere your brand shows up. šŸ’” The confidence factor is real: When we look professional and current, we show up differently in networking, pitching, and client calls. Rebecca made the whole process so relaxed that I forgot I was being photographed. Those natural moments? That's where the magic happens. What part of YOUR marketing have you been neglecting? When's the last time you treated your business like your best client? Let me hear in the comments below. #socialmediamarketing #personalbranding #SmallBusinessMarketing
