Europe cannot achieve true strategic autonomy by replacing one dependency with another. If we want to strengthen our food security, industrial #competitiveness and energy #resilience, we need to rethink how we produce one of agriculture's most essential building blocks: #ammonia. Green ammonia, produced from renewable #hydrogen, offers Europe a unique opportunity to reduce its dependence on imported fossil fuels while decarbonising #fertilizer production and creating high-value industrial jobs. The technology is ready. What we need now is the right policy framework: investment certainty, targeted market incentives and long-term demand signals that allow projects to move from ambition to implementation. The European Commission's Fertilizer Action Plan is an important step in the right direction.
