When I decided to take a semester away from school to pursue an internship, I knew I wanted to make the most of the opportunity by exploring something completely unfamiliar. Choosing ESGpedia wasn't an easy decision. I had little to no background in sustainability, and I knew there would be a steep learning curve. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I've made. As part of the Business Development and Client Support team, I was introduced to a side of sustainability that I had never experienced in the classroom. Over the past few months, I contributed to more than 20 sustainability reports, supported clients in managing large volumes of ESG data, and gained hands-on experience with carbon accounting through ESGpedia's platform. It was rewarding to see how data, technology, and sustainability come together to help businesses make better decisions. One experience that stands out was being entrusted to independently lead client engagements from start to finish. I took ownership of a range of deliverables, from sustainability reporting to award submissions, while serving as the client's primary point of contact throughout the process. With minimal day-to-day supervision, I was responsible for coordinating requirements, managing timelines, and ensuring high-quality deliverables. It was both challenging and incredibly rewarding, teaching me how to navigate ambiguity, communicate with confidence, and take ownership of my work. More importantly, it showed me the value of earning trust through reliability and initiative. This internship also reinforced something I had always believed but never truly experienced: some of the best learning happens outside the classroom. Taking a break from a regular semester meant stepping away from lectures and tutorials, but in return I gained firsthand exposure to an industry that is evolving rapidly and developed skills that simply can't be learned from a textbook. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at ESGpedia for your guidance, patience, and support throughout the internship. Thank you for trusting me with meaningful work, giving me the space to learn, and making my first experience in sustainability such a rewarding one. I'm excited to build on everything I've learned and see where this journey takes me next. #ESGpedia #Sustainability #ESG #CarbonAccounting #SustainabilityReporting #BusinessDevelopment #ClientSupport #Internship #ProfessionalGrowth
