BSc Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool || Ex Pfizer Pharmacovigilance Undergrad (2024-25)
I’m proud to share that I have completed my placement year at Pfizer as a Pharmacovigilance Undergraduate Process Analyst! 🧬 Over the past 12 months, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to contribute to safety signal management across Pfizer’s global portfolio- helping ensure signals and adverse drug reactions could be detected, evaluated and mitigated. I worked on a range of exciting projects and PV activities, including: 🔹Launching the first oncology-specific pages in Pfizer’s clinical safety monitoring software, which visualised solid tumour progression using RECIST data. Now adopted by 30+ studies and growing. Huge thanks to the team! 🔹Supporting an automated meeting tracker pilot project, streamlining how meeting minutes are reviewed and managed. 🔹Coordinating epidemiology reviews to support PASS (Post-Authorisation Safety Study) submissions. 🔹Developing digital skills in Power Automate and coding in Spotfire. Beyond the role, I made the most of every opportunity to give back and further my skills: 🏃♀️ Ran the London Marathon, raising over £2,000 for Sense 👩🔬 Returned to my hometown as a STEM Learning UK ambassador, encouraging girls from local schools to pursue stem subjects post-16 🌱 Volunteered with Groundwork, building bird boxes and community gardens 🌈 Marched at London Pride with Pfizer and the Proud Science Alliance 🦸♀️ Supported the Superhero Series Triathlon as a Super Sidekick! This year has been a huge period of growth, both professionally and personally. I’m so grateful to all the brilliant and inspiring colleagues I’ve worked with, and especially to my manager, David Jones for his support and encouragement. I’m excited to head back to the University of Liverpool to complete my Pharmacology degree, taking with me a passion for clinical sciences and an appreciation of the real-world applications of pharmacology in drug safety.
