Becoming a mentor, I expected mentees to seek my guidance on technical skills. I was wrong. They wanted to learn leadership. At first I was surprised. I thought my MBA experience would be useful, and even more applicable to their current challenges. But most of my mentees had already gained technical skills in university or on the job. Leadership, however, is not something that can be taught once and remembered. It requires character, thought, immediacy, and actionability. With these principles in mind, I wrote "A Short Guide for New Managers." Stay humble and good luck!
