Australians are largely enjoying retirement, but financial certainty remains the key to happiness. Challenger’s third annual Challenger Retirement Happiness Index 2026 reveals retirement happiness has risen, with purpose, health and community playing an important role. But cost‑of‑living pressures and concerns about outliving savings continue to weigh heavily on confidence.
