The Middle East's energy story is no longer defined by a single resource or technology. Alongside its leadership in oil and gas, the region is investing heavily in renewables, hydrogen, CCUS, digitalisation and other technologies that are reshaping the global energy landscape. At the same time, evolving commercial, regulatory and geopolitical dynamics are creating new opportunities—and new challenges—for market participants. Together with my Gibson Dunn colleagues, we have explored these themes in 📖 "Energy in the Middle East: From Black Gold to Green Horizons" 📖, which brings together perspectives on a wide range of issues affecting the region's energy sector, including project development and financing, private capital investment, M&A, ESG, AI, energy transition initiatives and dispute resolution. In the chapter I co-authored with Penny Madden in particular, we consider the new set of legal and commercial risks that accompany the transformation in the region which is rapidly diversifying its energy landscape: 🔖"The Energy Transition in the Middle East: Navigating the Inevitable Disputes"🔖 For anyone interested in the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of energy in the Middle East - this this book explores many of the commercial, legal and strategic issues that will define the sector's next chapter. Many thanks and congratulations again to Samuel Ogunlaja and all the contributors on bringing together a timely discussion of the forces reshaping the region's energy future. #Energy #MiddleEast #Renewables #Hydrogen #CCUS #EnergyTransition #Infrastructure #Geopolitics #internationaldisputes #ESG
