Recently we have held our first stakeholder workshop in Rabat, Morocco to present the preliminary findings of the study “Water Sources Treatment for the Production of Green Hydrogen” and to gather valuable third-party feedback. Commissioned by GIZ and conducted in close collaboration with IRESEN – the Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies – and implemented jointly with our partner INENSUS GmbH, the study aims to develop a comprehensive, water-focused decision-support tool to guide the sustainable scale-up of Green Hydrogen and Power-to-X industries in Morocco. At the heart of the study is a model designed to identify and compare potential sites for green hydrogen production, based on key criteria such as water availability, water treatment costs, infrastructure needs, renewable energy supply, and environmental sensitivities.
