"I talk to customers all the time who say: if I can pay more money and get an answer faster, I will do that. It's such a big market." That's Logan Kilpatrick, who leads developer products at Google DeepMind, on why speed is an unlock for AI. His point isn't just that faster is nicer. It's that speed changes the category of product you can build. Take vibe coding: instead of waiting to see what you've prompted, fast inference lets you see visual previews almost instantly, which transforms the entire experience from "kick off a job and walk away" into something interactive and engaging. This matters for adoption, too. A lot of people still think AI tools are boring: just a chatbot in a box. Logan's bet is that fast, visually rich, generative experiences are what change that perception and bring the next wave of people in. As he put it: "It's going to require faster inference — and I'm happy Cerebras is pushing the rock up the hill." That's exactly why we launched Google's Gemma 4 on Cerebras.
