From Teaching Assistant to Tutor: Building the next generation of Educators In most occupations, graduates know how to enter the profession and build a career. It’s not so clear for design education. Should graduates first pursue Master’s or PhD? CEPT University has created a unique program that identifies, nurtures, and advances emerging educators. Today, every studio across each of our programs engages at least one Teaching Associate/ Teaching Assistant (TA) - embedding mentorship, collaboration, and peer learning into CEPT’s studio-based approach. The TA program at CEPT offers: - Immersive Teaching Experience: Much like CEPT’s experiential learning model that builds real-world problem-solving skills, the TA role places professionals directly within teaching environments - mentoring students, facilitating idea exchange, and supporting studio teaching. - Fast-tracked pathways to teaching: Nearly 70% of TA's advanced to Tutor roles (Visiting, Adjunct or Full-time Faculty) pointing to early identification of teaching potential. - Sustained Engagement: Many TA's who transition to Tutors, continue to teach across multiple semesters, reflecting their long term commitment to being an academic. This progression reflects CEPT’s deep commitment to developing the next generation of design educators, supporting  diverse perspectives and practices. If you are looking for your first step as an educator, and would like to engage deeply with teaching, learning, and studio culture: Apply Now for the TA role for Monsoon Semester 2026 - https://lnkd.in/gt7-5Yac Applications close on 29 April.
