We’re delighted to be renewing our long-standing partnership with the National Research Council Canada / Conseil national de recherches Canada to help accelerate vaccine development and manufacturing so future outbreaks can be contained before they become global emergencies 🇨🇦 Under a new agreement, signed yesterday at the Canada-Korea conference in Whistler, we’ll work together towards developing new vaccines against emerging threats in as little as 100 days. The collaboration will also look to progress the development of manufacturing platforms and expand vaccine production capacity worldwide - helping ensure the world can respond quickly and fairly to future outbreaks. Today’s new agreement – which recognises biosecurity and equity at the core of what we do and the research we fund - builds on a partnership that began in 2019. This earlier collaboration with NRC helped move forward our COVID-19 vaccine portfolio. Dr Mandeep Singh Dhingra, MD, FRSPH., CEPI’s Director of R&D Programmes, said: “Canada has been investing in CEPI's vaccine research and development efforts since our launch nearly a decade ago, and we are proud to build on our collaborative partnership with Canada’s national research agency as we ready the world to confront both the emerging infectious diseases of today and those of tomorrow.”
