Last night was a special moment for CWI at AI House Amsterdam! ✨ Our director, Vanessa Evers, shared the stage with none other than Guido van Rossum. Guido achieved worldwide fame with Python, the programming language he designed in 1989 while working as a researcher at CWI. Together with moderator Euro Beinat, they delved into the history of Python, the rapid rise of AI, and the extent to which the two can be compared. It was wonderful to see the next generation of programmers, software engineers and AI specialists asking questions to their role model and learning more about CWI’s impact on programming and AI development. Thanks to the organizers at AI House Amsterdam and Prosus for this special evening! 👋 📸 Photo credits: Charles Poorter
