🔬 Sometimes the smallest organisms can tell the most fascinating stories. 🧬 As part of the "Planeta" students scientific association project, we were exploring how environmental factors influence the morphology and behavior of paramecia (Paramecium sp.). Using confocal microscopy (STELLARIS 8, Leica Microsystems), we observed a specimen stained with a membrane dye. The image shows a surface reconstruction, while the video reveals the internal structure — with bright spots that are most likely food vacuoles filled with bacteria, the paramecium’s natural food. Moments like these are a reminder that science is not just knowledge from textbooks, but above all discovery, curiosity, and awe at the world that often hides right under our noses. ✨ Science is fascinating — especially when we zoom in. 📩 Enjoy our work?
