“Establishing a sustainable logistics park in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (for short: SCZone): Opportunities and challenges.” This is the headline of Dr. Yasmine Rashed’s (Researcher at CSGL) latest research, where she cooperated with Karim Soliman (Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, Egypt.). What are SCZone opportunities and challenges as an international gateway and a transshipment hub? Using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), to prioritize and rank the prerequisites, opportunities, and challenges concerning the creation of a sustainable SCZone, the findings of this research can be summarized with the following points: (1) The environmental aspect is the most important attribute with 63%. (2) Providing physical and digital infrastructure is the most important pre-requisite with 18%. (3) Establishing a government with a high commitment and consistent policies is the most important challenge by 21%. (4) Attracting FDI was ranked the highest opportunity with 26%.
