Congratulations to Peter Traxler, from the group of CeMM PI and MedUni Vienna Prof. Christoph Bock (now in the group of Matthias Farlik at the Medizinische Universität Wien), on successfully defending his PhD thesis entitled "Functional multi-omics investigation of macrophage immune regulation." During his PhD, he optimized high-content CRISPR screens to test the functional roles of over 100 genes in macrophage immune responses. Coupled with single-cell sequencing, the screens uncovered new regulatory functions for epigenetic factors, including SFPQ and EP300. Your colleagues and friends at CeMM are proud of you, Peter.
