We started the week with an insightful Impromptu Seminar at CeMM featuring Yasin El Abiead from Universität für Bodenkultur Wien, hosted by CeMM Adjunct PI Clarissa Campbell and Miriam Abele, Head of Proteomics and Metabolomics. In his talk, “Bird's-Eye Metabolomics: Integrating a Decade of Global Metabolomics Raw Data,” El-Abiead highlighted how vast amounts of publicly available untargeted metabolomics raw data files can now be systematically queried across repositories. He demonstrated how this approach enables the discovery of previously unknown molecules, including bile acids, N-acyl amines, and carnitines, and places these findings into environmental, medical, and evolutionary contexts. Thank you, Yasin, for an engaging seminar and stimulating discussion! 📸 Wolfgang Däuble / CeMM #Metabolomics #DataIntegration
