CeMM, toghether with AITHYRA Research Institute for Biomedical Artificial Intelligence, joined the Long Night of Research last Friday at the Austrian Academy of Sciences - Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften (ÖAW), welcoming visitors of all ages to explore the fascinating world of molecular medicine. 🧬 Under the theme “AGTC – the four letters that form the basis of life,” our scientists invited participants to dive into the cell and discover how genes provide the blueprint for the human body. Through hands-on activities, our researchers demonstrated how they investigate the molecular causes of disease and uncover the secrets hidden in our DNA. ⭐ At four interactive stations, visitors had the opportunity to engage directly with science: - Tested their lab skills at the pipetting challenge; - Learned about DNA structure and mutations, including how base pairs (A–T and C–G) encode genetic information; - Built their own DNA double helix model and saw how genetic information is organized; - Discovered what everyday research at CeMM looks like. 🔬 It was inspiring to see so many curious minds engaging with science, asking questions, and experiencing firsthand how molecular medicine works. We would like to thank all CeMM and AITHYRA volunteers for their enthusiasm and dedication, as well as everyone who visited us during this special evening. It was a pleasure to share our passion for research and bring science closer to the public! 📷 Take a look at the event photo gallery by Bubu Dujmić here: https://bit.ly/4d6At3Q #LongNightOfResearch #LNF26 #SciComm #Outreach #ScienceIsOurMedicine
