We were pleased to welcome Ralph DeBerardinis (UT Southwestern Medical Center) for today’s CeMMinar, hosted by CeMM PIs Stefan Kubicek and Adjunct PIs Davide Seruggia (St. Anna Children's Cancer Research Institute (CCRI)), and Florian Grebien (Vetmeduni). In his talk, “Metabolic Outliers in Human Disease,” DeBerardinis discussed how altered metabolic pathways shape human disease, highlighting insights from metabolomics and isotope tracing approaches used to characterize disease-associated metabolic states in cancer and inherited metabolic disorders. He illustrated how studying metabolic perturbations has helped uncover mechanisms underlying tissue dysfunction and revealed new opportunities for therapeutic intervention. Thank you, Ralph, for an inspiring seminar and stimulating discussions! 📸 Wolfgang Däuble / CeMM #CancerResearch #Metabolomics #CancerBiology
