Andrew Charlton’s remarks at the Sydney Institute last week cut through the noise on data centres and power.   His 'triple lock' expectation of data centres is straightforward: bring new energy, pay your own way, support the grid. That’s the right standard to apply for the sector and it’s the standard CDC is operating at:   1. All our sites use 100% renewable energy backed by certified projects. 2. We fund all grid infrastructure and transmission costs required to support our developments. 3. We play an important role towards grid stability and stand ready to play our role during system stress events.   This is what responsible infrastructure looks like in practice.   As the sector grows, clear expectations matter for industry, communities and the energy system.   We welcome the Minister’s expectations and look forward to continuing to play a positive role in securing the economic, jobs, social and energy transition benefits for the nation. #CDC #DataCentres #ProgressSecured #DigitalInfrastructure #CriticalInfrastructure
