As we have seen with Manchester, the right leadership and investment can deliver real results. This energy and enthusiasm must translate to the whole country; it is not a zero-sum game. Alongside the Defence Investment Plan there are also critical decisions ahead on the UK’s relationship with the EU and the importance of leaning into international conversations to remove barriers to trade and investment. Business stands ready to play it’s part - bringing innovation, ingenuity and investment to drive rising living standards across the UK. The opportunity is there. Now is the time to seize it.
