We’ve shared a lot of new faces with you recently, but let’s not forget the original crew who make us who we are! Over the next few weeks, we will be shining a spotlight on those Cathexians, so stay tuned. First up is Jerry Cates, a self-proclaimed master of “Bad Dad Jokes”: “My son keeps chewing on the electrical cords in the house, so I had to ‘ground’ him. He’s ‘conducting’ himself much better now.” Jerry has over 30 years of experience in the field of architecture, ranging from running his own residential design firm for 10 years in the South San Jose area of Northern California, to 20+ years as a Senior Project Manager at CATHEXES. Jerry has managed a diverse range of projects from custom residential to multifamily residential, commercial retail to professional office, night clubs to restaurants, and HUD funded affordable housing. In addition to his professional architectural experience, he is also an accomplished airbrush artist and custom painter who has won multiple awards for his paint work on classic hot rods. Fun fact: Jerry custom airbrushed the helmet used by women’s skeleton sled Silver Medalist, Noelle Pikus-Pace, during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. We love Jerry and so should you!
