Safety has always been personal for Ekapot. Growing up in a humble, rural environment, he learned early on that creating a safe space at home and in the community was a shared responsibility. Those values stayed with him and eventually shaped his passion to pursue Occupational Health & Safety. 💛 After completing his education, Ekapot joined Caterpillar in 2019 and relocated to Rayong in Thailand. Stepping into this role brought an important realization: while everyone cared about safety, people came from very different backgrounds, cultures and experiences. Aligning them around common safety practices would take more than policy and guidelines, it would take understanding and standardization. 🌍 To achieve that, he defined an objective to spread awareness around our high safety standards in practice with new and experienced employees alike. His approach was simple yet powerful, with clear communication, hands-on demonstrations and learning tailored to individual needs. By bridging gaps between teams and cultures, he helped build shared ownership of safety not just as a requirement, but as a mindset. Today, as an EHS Leader, he plays a key role in driving safety as a culture across the facility. He supports teams by enhancing our safety strategy to empower people to work with confidence, knowing they are protected and supported in a culture of demonstrating care. He says, “My goal has always been to make sure everyone goes home safely. When we feel safe, we feel confident and happy, and that boosts morale. I’m grateful to Caterpillar for giving me the opportunity to learn and grow. What’s special is that Caterpillar also learns from its people like me by valuing ideas, respecting perspectives and helping us achieve safety together as one team.” Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ehm97VVA #IAmCaterpillar
