One of the rarest bottles of Japanese whisky ever made is up for auction now on Catawiki 🥃🇯🇵 Live right after Japan week, our platform-wide celebration of special Japanese objects earlier this month, the bottle drawn from cask #5627 after more than half a century of maturation, is considered the oldest Karuizawa expression ever made. Estimated at €300,000–€375,000, the bottle could set a new record for spirits on our platform. The now closed distillery means supply is finite, and each bottle features a unique hand-carved Japanese ornament, making it a rare expression of both Japanese whisky and craftsmanship. “This is the kind of bottle collectors may wait years to see.” says Jeroen Koetsier whisky expert at Catawiki.
