This morning, our Managing Director, Richard Eldridge, joined BBC Radio 4 to discuss the importance of defence investment in the UK and what ongoing uncertainty means for the wider defence industry supply chain. For many organisations operating within the defence sector, the current environment is creating a sense of frustration and uncertainty. While commitments to increased defence spending have been made, businesses across the supply chain are still waiting for clarity around when funding will translate into programmes, contracts and investment opportunities. For some suppliers, particularly those heavily reliant on defence work, this uncertainty is having a direct impact on growth plans, recruitment and future investment decisions. As Richard highlighted: "There are companies we know of within the supply chain that are almost exclusively exposed to the defence market and are finding the going very tough indeed, or at the very least are putting investment decisions on hold, including hiring new staff, as they simply do not know when any payback might happen." With more than 40 years of experience supporting the defence sector, Castle Microwave is well positioned to continue serving customers across defence, aerospace and other critical industries.  Backed by a diverse customer base and the wider capabilities of the Connexion Technologies group, we remain committed to strengthening the UK defence supply chain through engineering excellence, innovation and long-term investment. Richard's interview is available to listen back on BBC Sounds.
