Today, we celebrate a fearless and ambitious leader. On June 20th, Delaney Jooris will begin an exciting new chapter as she heads across the country to become Director of Shelter Services at Santa Barbara Humane Society. While we're sad to see her go, we couldn't be more proud. Delaney joined CASPCA as an Adoption Coordinator three and a half years ago, initially viewing the position as a temporary opportunity to do meaningful work. It didn't take long for her to discover that animal welfare wasn't just a job, it was her calling. What has made Delaney exceptional is her ability to manage chaos. She's found purpose in helping anxious animals move quickly through the shelter and harnessing people’s passion into productive projects for our shelter. Her compassion and commitment has touched countless animals and individuals along the way. She immersed herself in every aspect of our shelter operations and continued to raise her hand for more. Delaney went on to lead our Volunteer Program, our Adoptions Team, our Foster Program, and Pet Food Pantry, creating systems, building partnerships, mentoring staff, and ensuring both people and animals received the support they need long after she has left. Her impact on CASPCA will remain woven into the fabric of this organization. In the programs she strengthened and the people she mentored, and the families she has changed. We will all continue to benefit from her contributions for years to come. Delaney, thank you for your dedication, leadership, and heart. We are incredibly grateful for all you've given to CASPCA and excited to watch you thrive in this next adventure. California is lucky to have you. Congratulations, we'll be cheering you on every step of the way!
