New Post: Harry Fehr Returns to Singapore Lyric Opera with a fresh New Vision of Madama Butterfly - https://lnkd.in/eiVrAK43  Following the success of his staging of The Magic Flute in 2025 Harry Fehr returns to Singapore Lyric Opera to direct Madama Butterfly with Nancy Yuen in the title role. Now often considered culturally problematic Fehr re-imagines the historically Orientalist opera, turning it into a tale of clashing cultural fantasies and impossible communication. The set and costumes emphasise scenes as the imaginary desires of American naval officer Pinkerton, but also of Cio-Cio-San seduced by the suburbia of the 1950s American dream.
