This is the first in a 4 series part blog focusing on the link between human trafficking and image based sexual abuse. Our amazing Advocacy Director, Andrea Powell analyzed 3 cases from the US, South Korea and France. The first blog is focusing on victims and how they were recruited, coerced, raped, abused and continue to endure life long harms. Their abusive content is still online even though the perpetrators have been arrested. We need to learn that this kind of abuse does not stop just because the offenders are behind bars. We need to build a system that allows survivors to have their abusive content removed permanently. Next week the US is taking a big step forward as the Take It Down Act will come into force and platforms will have to remove such content within 48 hours. Read our blog and subscribe to receive an update of the next blog in two weeks.
