Global Culture & Engagement Specialist | Diversity, Equity & Inclusion ๐Ÿ’ญ

๐ŸŒˆ #Inclusion is where it starts. #Allyship is how we move forward. Today at Alstom, I had the pleasure of co-facilitating a global roundtable for #IDAHOBIT with the leaders of our LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Groups and representatives of our #Leadership Team. We spoke openly about why it matters to talk about LGBTQ+ topics at work, and what happens when we donโ€™t. But even more importantly, we explored what it truly means to be an ally, not only for the LGBTQ+ community, but across all dimensions of #diversity. Because going further than conversation is what really counts. Itโ€™s about turning words into action. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, and especially to our speakers: ๐Ÿ’™ Marcella Hoffmann and Matt Byrne, for setting the tone and reminding us how powerful visible leadership support can be ๐Ÿ’™ Our Alstom True Colours (Americas) representatives Tamara, Israel and Vinรญcius, for sharing honest reflections on the cost of exclusion - and the impact of empathy and respect (and for being up so early!) ๐Ÿ’™ Rikki from Pride ANZ (Australia & New Zealand), for showing how everyday actions make us better allies, as individuals and as a company (and for staying up late!) ๐Ÿ’™ Imogen, Joseph (and Sergio!) from Voices of Pride (UK), for showing what โ€œwalking the talkโ€ really looks like when a site works together to reach allyship ๐Ÿ’™ And to my amazing manager and co-facilitator, Marcella Martinetti, for bringing this conversation to life and constantly championing DEI I am already eager for the next #DEI event!
