🎯 Typical double standard 🤬 I have nothing against Schapelle Corby, I understand people make mistakes and whole heartedly believe people deserves second, sometimes third and fourth chances. However, the fact that she gets a paid gig on Dancing with the Stars while our justice involved mob are permanently locked out of economic opportunities due to their criminal records infuriates me. Deadly Connections Community & Justice Services aims to change the narrative about the type of people who are in jail, often trapped in a never ending cycle of trauma, disadvantage and the revolving door of a violent carceral system. We also need people to understand what actually happens in correctional centres. The justice system is unequipped and uninterested in rehabilitation and healing. Jails are criminogenic and only serve to perpetuate further justice involvement.
