Seeing what the car sees: Driver assistance systems are rapidly evolving from a feature to a digital co-pilot. They are no longer just reactive tools but intelligent companions that help drivers understand complex traffic situations in real time. Together with AUDI AG, CARIAD has developed the Integrated Driver Assistance Display (IFA): a system that translates sensor data and map intelligence into a clear, lane‑level visualization in the cockpit. Two modes ensure reliability across environments: 1️⃣ IFA HIGH combines HD maps, localization, and sophisticated sensor fusion to create a highly accurate, stable digital model of the road, including a navigation “carpet” guiding the correct lane. 2️⃣ IFA LOW relies entirely on the vehicle’s onboard sensors and cameras and provides a sensor‑driven, real‑time fallback when map confidence decreases, maintaining accuracy in any situation. 💡 What matters: seamless transitions, consistent driver support, and a system architecture that prioritizes precision over complexity.
