The Carey Medal was introduced in 1997 and has been awarded annually to a member of the Carey community in recognition of exceptional and outstanding service to the wider community, either within the state, nationwide or internationally. Robyn Brewin, former Carey parent, former staff member and beloved member of our community was awarded the 2025 Carey Medal for her significant and positive impact through the JMB Foundation to the lives of many young Australians living with an acquired brain injury. Other past recipients include Hugh van Cuylenburg (1998), founder of the Resilience Project and youth mental health advocate; Meg Lanning (2009), an incredible sports role model and ambassador of many charities; and Dr Maithri Goonetilleke (1997), founder of Possible Dreams International, marginalised communities advocate and author. If you know of a past or present student, parent, member of staff or other Carey community member deserving of the Carey Medal, nominate them by Sunday 31 May 2026 here: https://lnkd.in/gfuFsYZR
