Reconciliation Week at Carey was an opportunity for our community to foster deeper understanding of and connections with First Nations cultures, histories and achievements. Uncle Colin Hunter, a Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Elder, performed a Welcome to Country for each school section on Monday. Assemblies and activities throughout the week, including APS training and matches yesterday, provided many opportunities for students and staff to celebrate the week. A Wear it Yellow community fundraiser was also held on Friday in support of Children’s Ground, a First Nations–led organisation working with communities to improve children’s learning, health, wellbeing and cultural strength.
