𝟮𝟴 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 The Dec-Jan 2026 ACCU register update saw 𝟮𝟴 𝗻𝗲𝘄 projects registered. Once again 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 projects (14) and 𝗦𝗼𝗶𝗹 projects (9) dominated. Plantation specialists 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶 registered 5 new plantation projects in Tasmania taking their total active projects to 39. Their first projects were registered in 2020. A total of 64k ACCUs have been issued on their projects. Most of the new Landari projects fall under 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝟯 of the plantation methodology: Avoided conversion of a plantation to non-forested land by continuing plantation. This requires the project developer to source an 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 comparing returns from continuing plantation forestry versus conversion to a viable non-forested land use (e.g. grazing) which sequesters less carbon than plantation forestry. I.e. demonstrating the plantation would otherwise be converted without ACCU participation.
