When the enemy's machine-gun fire pinned down his platoon in the Mushkoh Valley during the Kargil War, Sanjay Kumar didn't wait for someone else to act. Despite being shot, he charged the enemy bunker, fought hand-to-hand, captured the enemy's machine gun, and turned it against them, paving the way for his platoon to complete the mission.
