Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work – a reminder that staying safe at work includes protecting yourself from cancer risks you may not always see. Carcinogens are cancer-causing agents found in many workplace environments. Over time, exposure to these substances, like asbestos, silica dust, diesel exhaust, welding fumes and UV radiation, can increase your risk of developing certain cancers. With around 3.6 million Australians exposed to one or more carcinogens at work, understanding the risks is key to protecting your health. Every worker has the right to a safe workplace. Stay informed, follow safety procedures, use protective equipment and speak up if something doesn’t seem right. Learn more about workplace carcinogens and how to stay safe: https://lnkd.in/g6sTQQjY.
