✨Employee spotlight!✨ Recently, Business Development Executive Sarah swapped her desk for wellies and spent the day volunteering at Lucky Clucks, a smallholding owned and run solely by Georgina, a retired A&E nurse with a serious love for animals. The smallholding is home to two horses, a group of orphaned or rejected lambs, plus pygmy goats, geese, pigs, turkeys, ducks and chickens. Georgina funds the animals' feed through an honesty box, selling homemade nettle tea bags, chutney and beeswax candles, alongside eggs from her chickens, ducks and geese🐥 Here's what Sarah had to say about her experience: "It felt wonderful to be part of a very new, small local business and I felt my help was really appreciated. Being in such a beautiful setting on the river Dart and helping to care for these beautiful animals really lifted my soul . All animals are so well looked after, and the owner puts her all into making sure the farm is run ethically and responsibly. It is a community-focused, not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting Torbay's young carers, unpaid carers, and individuals experiencing mental health challenges, loneliness and isolation. I found it really rewarding and grounding, especially because it is just a small business run for pleasure and not for money." Lucky Clucks is a brilliant example of what one person's passion project can grow into, and we're proud Sarah got to be part of it for the day. #CampsInternational #CampsEffect #VolunteerDay #EmployeeSpotlight
