Many governments are exploring open‑source approaches to public payments. So how do they decide what will actually work in practice? A new research initiative led by Financial Innovation for Impact (Fii), in collaboration with the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, Cambridge Judge Business School, examines the use of open‑source and digital public goods in government‑to‑person (G2P) payment systems. 💡 The focus is practical. While digital technologies have improved #G2P delivery, many governments still lack clear evidence, shared frameworks and implementation tools to assess and operationalise open‑source solutions with confidence.
