What a strong step forward in Mumbai. Cambi has signed a contract to deliver Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP) technology to the Malad wastewater treatment plant, our second installation in the city. Delivered for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), also known as the Municipal Corporation Of Greater Mumbai (Mcgm), in partnership with NCC Limited, one of India’s largest infrastructure and construction companies, the project supports the city’s ambitious programme to modernise wastewater infrastructure. Key highlights from the project: ✅ Energy and Environmental Impact: The Cambi system will boost biogas production equivalent to the electricity demand of more than 5,100 Indian homes, while reducing daily traffic and enabling beneficial reuse of biosolids ✅ Advanced Sludge Treatment: The THP system will treat biological sludge, breaking down its structure to enable faster and more efficient anaerobic digestion ✅ Designed for Scale in Mumbai: Implemented at one of the city’s largest treatment plants, the solution will support high-capacity, efficient wastewater processing Delivery of the THP systems is scheduled for 2027. For more details about this milestone project, check out the press release linked in the comments. #Cambi #ThermalHydrolysis #India #Mumbai #Sustainability #WastewaterTreatment #CircularEconomy
