Today in Sacramento, California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond attended the inaugural meeting of the California Education Interagency Council (CEIC), bringing together state leaders from education, business, labor, and finance. The CEIC was established last year to align efforts across K-12, post-secondary education, employers, and the statewide workforce system, with the central aim of improving educational pathways into the workforce. California has made significant progress through collaboration among the CDE, Labor, the Chancellor’s Office for Community Colleges, the Division of Apprenticeship Standards, and the California Workforce Development Board. In California, career technical education (CTE) pathways are one of the many ways high schools provide students with direct access to engaging, hands-on, real-world learning experiences. More information about CTE pathways can be found on the CDE's Career Technical Education webpage: https://lnkd.in/gfhr4FYd
