Para el que le sirva! Translator es una aplicación de escritorio que había desarrollado para uso personal, ya que suelo consumir mucho contenido de habla inglesa sobre personas visitando otros países, y siempre quise entender el contexto de lo que estaban conversando los nativos en sus interacciones. El objetivo era conseguir la transcripción y traducción de lo que se hablaba en tiempo real (o lo más cercano posible), además de aprovechar ciertos servicios que ofrecen planes gratuitos y así no tener que gastar de mi bolsillo para obtener estas ventajas. Es por eso que estoy usando Deepgram para transcripciones de audio a texto y Azure AI Translator para las traducciones. Es un proyecto en el que había estado trabajando desde hace un tiempo y que nunca me animé a compartir, pero decidí hacer mi primera release pública para experimentar con la distribución de aplicaciones de escritorio en GitHub. Translator is a desktop application I originally developed for personal use, since I often consume a lot of English-language content about people visiting other countries, and I always wanted to better understand the context of what locals were saying in their interactions. The goal was to achieve real-time transcription and translation (or as close to real-time as possible), while also taking advantage of certain services that offer free plans so I wouldn’t have to spend out of pocket to access these benefits. That’s why I’m using Deepgram for audio-to-text transcription and Azure AI Translator for text translation. It’s a project I had been working on for some time but never had the courage to share, until I decided to make my first public release to experiment with distributing desktop applications on GitHub.
